Designed to evoke the power and regality of the high king of the Æsir, this hoodie features multiple art pieces, each giving a little more insight into one of the most complex, morally diverse, and straight up insane deities of Norse mythology & lore.

Material

T-shirts: 100% Cotton, Lightweight, 150gsm

Hoodies: 50% cotton, 50% polyester, 280gsm

Though if you're like myself and prefer cotton – My hoodies feel a lot more comfortable than this would initially seem.

How it feels to wear

Fucking. Phenomenal. I'm sorry for the french, but you have no idea how long i've been looking for a lightweight T-shirt as comfortable, affordable and accessible as this one.

Before I start printing clothing, I was always looking for t-shirts like this one. They sit very comfortably while not being too heavy or too light.

I don't really know what else to say about it – I'm biased of course, but I've found the absolute pinnacle of lightweight comfort tees and I will gladly die on this hill.

I'll be very sad if Absolute Apparel ever stop stocking them.

Washing instructions

TLDR: Stick it in the washing machine. you're good.

The washing guidelines from the supplier are as follows:

40 Degree Wash, Do Not Bleach, Warm Iron, Line Dry, Do Not Dry Clean. Do Not Iron Decoration.

However, here's what I've found:

My girlfriend and myself do our weekly washing as a 40-degree, mixed colour wash followed by a spin and drain cycle and then we leave them to air dry. We don't have a tumble dryer so I can't say how it would have an effect on the garment.

I still have my very first Óðinn T-shirt (same for the hoodie) from early 2024. It has been washed and worn countless times, and we're still yet to see any cracking in the art or the garment itself becoming uncomfortable.

About the Art

All of my apparel is printed by myself.

And if not by myself, then by a good friend of mine – Louis Webb – who introduced me to the world of garment printing and taught me what I know today. I take on all of the work and do everything small scale.

I use a DTF Heat Press to transfer the designs onto the garment

DTF means Direct to Film – a printing technique in which the art is printed onto a special plastic film, and then pressed with heat onto the garment which releases the art. For all of my garments I work with a 2-step printing process in order to really 'marry' the design to the fabric.

The first step releases the art from the film. For T-shirts I press the art with medium pressure at 150 degrees celsius – first with a teflon sheet over the art for 8 seconds. The DTF I use is hot peel, so I immediately remove the film after this first press as quickly as I can. This preserves the details and a quick, clean peel results in much less cracking.

The second step is to re-press the design – this time without a teflon sheet – for about 3-4 seconds. I then leave them to cool naturally before folding and packing.

For Hoodies – the process is the same however I first press them at 170 degrees celsius for 15 seconds, followed by the quick removal of the film, and then a second press of 5-6 seconds.

About the Supplier

I like keeping what I do at a small scale, and I don't like no-name / no-face corporate entities.

So I was very lucky that I was introduced to Absolute Apparel as my primary supplier. I'll give you the copy from their website, and then my own personal experience working with them.

About Casual Classics – From Absolute Apparel

Casual Classics has a rebellious spirit & a lofty objective: to design & make blanks at a revolutionary price, at a quality level equal to or better than the rest.

As a mill to warehouse producer, Casual Classics has a middleman free supply chain that allows the saving to be passed on to the consumer. Circumventing traditional channels, designing in-house & engaging with customers direct, we provide higher-quality, better-looking garments at a fraction of the going rate

Casual Classics was created to offer an alternative for fashion friendly buyers wanting blanks to create their own brand. We keep our styles generic & labels removable.

Casual Classics is there for you to make your own brand, not to promote ours.

Who they really are – and my personal experience with them so far

I think the copy from their website above is pretty spot on. My experience with Absolute Apparel has, thus far, been flawless. I have my own brand representative – James Dunn – who has been an absolute diamond to work with since I became a customer of the brand.

James will occasionally call me up for half an hour just to chat about how I'm getting on with different things. He calls after I do events to see how things went, and he pays attention to the style I'm trying to build with my brand. He'll offer suggestions, help me choose between different brands, and he does so without ever being pushy for a sale.

I don't know if James makes commission on all of my purchases, but if he does – it certainly doesn't feel like it. He's always on hand to help me out, and for me personally – I like having that more chilled out and human aspect to my clothing orders. I know that if I have an issue, I don't need to go through website forms and all of that boring nonsense. I just give games a Ring and it gets sorted instantly.

Ethics & sustainability

I once asked James – my brand representative for Absolute Apparel – to be straight with me about the ethics behind the garments I'm buying

He seemed very happy to hear that question – and immediately started telling me about all of the regulatory bodies they work with. I'm not a P.I. – But I believe him. If it ever comes out that they were lying and the ethics are all a scam – cast your judgement on them, not me. That being said, I have no reason to believe that James would have lied to me, and thus I'll put the copy from their website below so you can read it for yourself.

OEKO-TEX

The national and international statutory requirements concerning the product safety of textiles are difficult for manufacturers to comprehend in their everyday business.

Trust the experts from OEKO-TEX. The current statutory provisions are covered in the extensive measures catalogue for harmful substance testing and the relevance of future developments is checked.

  • The regulations regarding prohibited azo dyes, formaldehyde, nickel etc. are included in the test catalogue.
  • Chemicals harmful to health are also tested if they have not yet been statutorily regulated.
  • Requirements of Annexes XVII and XIV of the REACH Directive, and of the ECHA-SVHC Candidate List are covered by the test method.
  • The OEKO-TEX laboratory tests include around 100 test parameters and take into account the intended use of the textiles. The more intensive the skin contact of a textile product, the stricter the limit values for each product class.

T-shirts – FAQs

Will the art peel off?

I'm yet to see it happen on any larger design.

I have had my original Odin hoodie for almost 2 years, and despite countless washes and rigorous use, I haven't had a single pice of the art even begin to crack.

I have had some peeling in the past, but that was an isolated incident in which the art I was using was both too small, and the details were too fine. And the peeling could already be seen as an issue after they were printed.

None of my current range has anything remotely that small.

The supplier for the art states that the art is good for over 50 washes, but in my experience there have been no issues.

Slightly different story for my sweatpants, shorts and leggings.

I've been wearing my sweatpants every day since I printed them. I actually made myself 2 pairs to rotate in and out between washes 🤣 I am noticing some cracking in the art on the joggers, but no peeling.

Given how much our legs move, and thus the material of the garment is moving, this is a given. But looking at them now, they're still going strong and they've been through maybe 10-15 washes.

So all in all, no. the art shouldn't peel off. I use a 2-step process for transferring the art which marries the art to the garment as best I possibly can. So far, no problems!

If you do buy some clothing from me and the art does peel, get in touch so a) I can look into why it peeled and fix that for all of the future prints, and b) If it's a problem, I'll look after you however I can <3

Do I offer Larger Sizes?

I offer the full range accessible to me from my supplier. For my T-shirts & hoodies – that's S-5XL. I don't stock 4XL & 5XL T-shirts here with me though. I only have a limited amount of space and money to spend on stock.

I absolutely do offer 4-5XL T-shirts & Hoodies, I'll just order them for you specifically once you place your order.

So just expect it to take a couple more days to arrive, but I'll likely reach out to you with updates if we haven't already spoken :)
